I would say the MCU John Walker is faithful in the general comics John arc but very very different in terms that they DID tone down the character considerably. MCU John Walker is a puppy compared to Comics John who might as well be a rabid wolf by comparison. Also John has appeared in Thunderbolts stories before the recent issue of the team so he is known for the involvement with that team.

I do love this season, but I totally get it. Invincible is shocking an real when it's dark and ppl die and lose irl. But this is only part one. I think it's about to get a lot more real. I'm always tryna be lookin out for subversion of expectations, and I think this has been a lot of character building and storytelling. Like these are his side quests. Just look at the end. We see Nolan compassionate and more benevolent yet he still has his dark side. I'm not thru the comics yet and they're both separate universes. Everything they put in there tho is so important. Mark didn't "lose" because he killed Angstrom (why is that not his last name 🤦🏻‍♂️), he lost because he didn't didn't mean to. He lost because he lost control and I know his plot will get darker. And I think he will learn more control over his strength and endurance. But we just saw him lose who he thought he was, and I know from experience that can lead to so much darkness. At my lowest, if I had that power, I know would struggle, more than I do without that power. Overall great video, I don't agree with everything but I understand your opinion, and ik that just sounds like being a human but I've been thru dark places recently and I don't always have the empathy I should. I love video essays and watching TV and movies with deep meanings. Stories they tell without ever saying it. The way everything is never how it may seem and that so interlinked. I never post in comments but feel compelled to here. Nobody ever talks about how bad the Cinema experience has gotten. I used to love seeing movies but now I hate it. I find I go expecting an argument. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I went to the cinema without it being ruined somehow. The collapse of the 90 day exclusivity window is mystifyingly bad business. I used to love watching as many summer blockbusters as I could and then before Christmas I would buy DVDs of mu favourites. The studios had my money. twice. Nowadays a movie like The Fall Guy, which looked quite fun but inessential I can just wait a couple of weeks to rent and download it at my convenience.

I'm gonna be honest, Eternals was not my favourite movie. But I really, reall, really, liked Makkari in that movie. She has the best on-screen speed powers I've ever seen, she had an awesome fight with Ikaris, she had a really cute relationship with Druig and she wears red (love that) I'm not the biggest fan of race swapping in general, cause I think it's lazy. But I really liked her in that movie, she was easily my favourite character next to Druig

I really want to love this show without criticism like I do with The Boys, but I can't. It feels like the writers don't want to or can't write the story they could. Marc goes through hell, he loses his father, is attacked by overpowering aliens, breaks up with his girlfriend twice and can't live his life. In every scene where Amber and Marc are together, you can count on one hand how long it takes until he has to run away again. There always has to be action, Marc is never allowed to lead a human life. The writers don't see Marc as Marc but only as Invincible who has to fight someone at every opportunity. Marc goes to Comic Con with Amber and can't even do that because he has to fight someone, so the writers pull something out of their asses to get action. There were several moments in the season where I thought to myself that this is the point where he has to break emotionally, he can never express his problems. He sits there minutes after almost dying and has to listen to how bad it is to lie to his friends about where their boyfriend is. Marc gets 2 days off a week and tells Amber, in the first scene after this conversation the time together between Amber and Marc is immediately interrupted just to get some action. Only 20 minutes after the 2 days off rule is introduced in the series, it is already canceled again. Future Atom Eve tells him that she has always loved him, he then actually goes to Eve only to push everything away again. Again the perfect proof that the writers don't want to see the human Marc but only the superhero Marc. With everything Marc has been through, it's almost impossible that the thought "I don't want this anymore" or "I can't do this anymore" wasn't even in his head

Don't worry about the usher joke, I worked during the super bowl and I told one of my coworkers "yeah im working the halftime shift today." They said "what are you talking about?" Usher, usher. For the translating; there's an app called TheatreEars that syncs up to the movie and plays an audio track alongside the film, usually with options for Audio Descriptive, Spanish, and hearing impaired (I know this is adds to the phone problem but in my experience the users try and sit as far back as possible) Usher things; a lot of movie theater companies are constantly understaffing and ushers are being cut left and right. It puts such a toll on the staff that stays. It gets harder to clean theatres on time. Plus half the time they'll try it with only one usher meaning they're cleaning while no one checks tickets or they try and get the concession workers to check which realistically is impossible when there's a line. Air Filtering; It is insane how rare the companies put money out for air conditioning or filters, it's insane. My expectation when I walk into a movie theater is it should always be cool Streaming; I genuinely hated how much business we lose when a movie goes on streaming. The studios releasing it as soon as possible takes a MASSIVE chunk out of box office revenue. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes actually bounced back to the #3 spot during Inside Out 2s opening weekend. It makes more money when you let it play out.

You don't get those types of crossovers often (for good reason), but Marvel or DC having a references to their competition characters and universe in a blink and you miss it moment is so fun, but this was one of their biggest uses of that.... Not the last time a Eternal references DC characters in their stories with movie saying Superman, Batman and Alfred.

One of my favorites. First he was a white guy. Then he had a South Asian look starting with Gaiman's run and through Knauf's run. Then under Gillen, a dark skin woman who is deaf. The deafness is great for a character mistaken for writing gods.

That "Flash" cameo is fantastic, I love it when the big two sneak in nods at each other. That said, if we want to be pedantic weenies about this, that same crossover that gave Quicksilver a buff also showed Flash was basically powerless in the Marvel universe since it doesn't have a Speed Force to tap into.

A central part of the game is who's side will trigger first. So, kinda like Martyr or Lizard or Maximus, this is another character that gets you power on the field fast so you can trigger first.

I like this card cuz I can safely skip this week and save my tokens/keys. Spotlight versions of X23 and Gladiator are pretty dope tho

The Rex thing is basicly comic accuret, at leadt the Kate coming back and stuff, Rey i hope dies as it happened already couse 1 not a big fan 2 someone should die for real. Donald was always a robot tho. And Rex surviving probably simply couse he got enhancments as a child i'm not a doctor course but still. That thing is still a good moment showing that missions not always go eaisly for them which is nice. Amstrong was handled pretty badly, but his porpuse wasn't really ment to he great either. Bro's existance in the show is to ruin Mark's life over and over basicly. He never needed to be the perfect villain that would do this or that. The seanson 1 story was basicly Nolan's story mixed in with Mark's superhero beginnings. And that he wants to be like his father. But in seanson 2 the main story is that he doesn't want to be like his father. That's basicly told in every episode in some way, his talk with Cecil, his fight with Dark Wing, him not killing Thula when he had the upper hand, him rejecting to join Anissa or to even lie to her that he will join them, and then obviously the finale where he literally gives Levi the Omni-man treatment despite wanting to be diferent. Seanson 1 built up Nolan and Mark in a diferent way they needed to alike but then represent 2 sides. (At least in Mark's eyes and for most of the people) 2 superpowered giants 1 who looks at the bigger picture and looks down on people ect and 1 who is representing the good. It's basicly Luke vs Vader except Vader beats the fuck out of Luke in this case and then leaves. Seanson 2 didn't need to have a simularly built villain couse Amstrong never needed to be a totatly built out very detailed villain who will challange Mark's world view and try to convince him or something. Altho he could have been handled better. But the shocking factor was never that ", oh they will fight and this and that" But simply that the villain managed to push the nobel hero to be a killing machine after 2 straight seansons of him refusing to kill and do bad things ect. So basicly Omni-man vs Invincible is basicly Vader vs Luke and Levi vs Mark is something like a Batman vs Joker type thing

I saw Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and at some point something crawled on me. I reached back, grabbed whatever it was and tossed it. It felt like a cockroach. I will not go back to that Regal.

Sersi as a card is amazing btw. I played a pretty basic progression for the deck she's in- Electro into Sersi, except I did it on Kamar-Taj, where there was already a squirrel token. I played Odin on turn 6, and by the end Squirrel and Electro had turned into Rock Slide and Legion, and ended up as Orka and Skaar. Every location was Kamar-Taj, my opponent had 6 Rocks in their deck, and a couple other things had happened along the way. It was a bonkers game. Of course to balance that out she's created Modok at least once, and I still don't care. I adore this card.

The Eternals movie had to do what they did, to make their context within the MCU at least plausible. They probably overdid keeping them mellow for too much of the movie, but when you have what are arguably the most powerful superbeings in the world, you have to explain why the heroes we know never encountered them and why they didn't help save the world/universe in the big universe destruction story you just told.

It stopped being a story about superheroes and became about drama, like all of these projects become. Just spend time with your famiky if you want drama

I think the difference with Galactus as a force of nature is the self-awareness. He knows his purpose in the universe in a way that the Jaws shark can't. He has thoughts and emotions. Plans and goals. But beyond his own desires and intents, above all other things, Galactus must feed.

Here's a question how did magneto rip the metal off of wolverine's bones if he was pulling on the metal it would have just pulled over in to him or it would pull his whole bones out I'm sure the craft between the metal and the bones is stronger than his joints holding his bones and plays she would have to been restricted tightly restrained to be able to pull the metal off of the bones
